Daviau has been put on leave from the Southern Elven military for beating an underling to death for remarks about the dwarves. It seems that Roy Reyes II found out about that somehow and used it to force Daviau to be his personal bodyguard. Daviau is a practical man of business, and seems to have little time for frippery.
