Haru's family was part of the peasant caste that makes up the vast majority of the population living on the outskirts of Yokonouchi, Seogye's capital, and have since moved to the countryside where they work at a general store owned by his uncle.  He was able to see at birth but lost most of his sight at a young age, a topic which he prefers to avoid.  Haru's disposition is generally pleasant and docile, but he is also calculating and possessing of a silver tongue.  He has worked as a traveling diplomat and healer for the past decade and a half, often guided by a strange impulse to wherever he is needed, which currently is the group known as Fortune's Blade.  While not a member, he has affiliate status with the Blue Cloaks.
