During the siege of Rosenvalle, they showed themselves to be altruistic and brave, and afterwards were given a large lump sum of gold to help the people of Rosenvalle rebuild. In exchange for the freedom of her friend, Tana must obtain the moon from the Material Plane and bring it back, for which she underwent intense combat training in preparation.

After Caz was born, they escaped their dangerous hometown and traveled with the circus. Upon hearing thief stories from Uncle Don, Caz imitates her uncle's stories which eventually develops her kleptomania at a young age. Caz started performing tightrope walking at age 15 when the original performer died in an accident. Reuben is her monkey familiar that she stole a wooden monkey statue from a mysterious man. Although her family worries that her kleptomania will get her arrested, Caz tries not to get caught or cause trouble on purpose for her parents' sake.

A very sickly child, he grew up in the shadow of the rest of the Irons clan, a family of inventors who has built some of the best technology has seen since Schism. After finding what he thought was his calling in explosives, Asher had an unfortunate accident which lead to his near-permanent death. For reasons at this time still unknown to the party, Asher was able to recover all of his body except his right arm. This leads him to his true calling: automation and prosthetics. However, at the pinnacle of his 15th summer, his village was ambushed by fiends during the eruption of the mountain his village resided on. Gael survived only by the sacrifice of his mother and Irith, and spent the next 4 months searching every day for some sign of life. After not finding anything and a pivotal event, Gael left the safety of the nearby Elven village and proceeded to wander the world, helping those he could before fatefully making his way into the Lucky Sapphire, meeting Maddie, and then joining what would become Fortune's Blade.
